Иглорефлексотерапия или акупунктура, воздействует на акупунктурные точка организма. Пришёл этот метод из Китая. С латинского языка переводится, как иглоукалывание. Для иглоукалывания используют разные иглы: круглые, тонкие, с заострённым концом, из серебра, золота и гибких нержавеющих сортов стали с низкой степенью окисления. Очень большое значение в иглоукалывании имеет положение пациента. Есть всего десять допустимых положений - три лежачих и семь сидячих. Иглоукалывание разрабатывает специальные техники введения иглы - глубина, наклон, скорость. Глубину подбирают каждому пациенту индивидуально исходя из его упитанности и возраста. Угол наклона определяют исходя из того, где расположены биологически активные точки, применяемые в акупунктуре. В китайской медицине существует два понятия "ян" и "инь" - называют их, как два противоположных начала. На этих понятиях основано учение о каналах, по которым движется энергия и кровь. Всего насчитывают 14 основных каналов, которые соединяют точки, находящиеся на теле человека. Относятся к каналам системы "ян": II - меридиан толстой кишки, III - желудка, VII - мочевого пузыря, Х - трёх обогревателей, VI - тонкой кишки и ХI - жёлчного пузыря. Относятся к каналам "инь": I - меридиан лёгких, IV - селезёнки - поджелудочной железы, IХ - перикарда, сексуальный меридиан, V - сердца, VIII - почек и ХII - печени.
